Company Background
In 1994, Steve Pixley, founder and CEO of AutoCrib, saw a need for manufacturing companies to control their indirect materials. In most cases, they had poor systems to track who was taking what. He also knew that a lot of time was spent looking for items that a worker needed to do his job. Pixley set out to find a way to help companies control and deliver the tools and supplies that workers needed, where they were needed. He literally built the first industrial vending machines in his garage.
AutoCrib has been delivering industrial vending innovations for manufacturing companies since 1995. Since then, AutoCrib, Inc. has provided over 10,000 industrial vending systems for manufacturing companies worldwide.
Creating an Industry
The basic concept of "industrial vending" has evolved into a wide variety of products that assist manufacturers in controlling perishable tooling, safety supplies, MRO supplies and other "indirect materials".
The tougher the economy, the more critical industrial vending is to manufacturing profitability. AutoCrib has repeatedly proven that smart industrial vending delivers an exceptional return on investment that goes straight to the bottom line.
Wide Variety of Dispensing Technology
The AutoCrib product line includes handheld scanners, automated lockers, automated cabinets, traditional vending, and robotic carousel systems. No other company provides such a variety of point-of-use dispensing technology. The systems are driven by AutoCrib's powerful software, which provides end-users with real time usage data and in many cases, updates their ERP systems. This allows manufacturers to dramatically reduce the cost of indirect supplies by as much as 50% through accountability and access control.
